Conflict Minerals - Dodd Frank 2012

“Conflict Minerals” - Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010
On August 22, 2012, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (USSEC), as directed by Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 finalized the requirements for public companies to disclose their use of "Conflict Minerals". The four minerals that make up the conflict minerals are Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten and Gold.

Spadone Bearings is a privately held corporation and thereby is not required to file reports with USSEC. Thereby Spadone Bearings is exempt from the requirements of section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. However, because Spadone Bearings is a supplier to companies that are covered directly by the rule, we intend to provide our customers with the information necessary for them to comply.

Of the four "Conflict Minerals", only Tin is used as an alloying element in the product(s) that Spadone Bearings supplies to its customers. The final rule also states that a “reasonable inquiry” be used to determine whether the conflict minerals are sourced from post-industrial or post-consumer scrap. Spadone Bearings has established said “reasonable inquiry” process with our suppliers, and have determined that the Tin in the alloy(s) Spadone Bearings supplies is from scrap sources and therefore is DRC Conflict Free.

Spadone Bearings wants to assure you that at this time we are not aware of the inclusion of any of the covered conflict minerals in our products.
